The Top of Virginia Artisan Trail is in its development period with early enrollment open now. Patrons are invited to check back periodically as new sites are added throughout the development period, as this region approaches its official launch. Interested parties are invited to enroll now to begin being visible on the Artisan Trail Network.

Located at the top of the picturesque Shenandoah Valley, The City of Winchester along with Frederick and Clarke Counties, is a choice destination for visitors who appreciate friendly, relaxing towns with big city amenities and the rural countryside. Take in the sheer scenic beauty, premiere shopping and family-friendly festivals, outdoor recreational activities and historical attractions, 5-star dining amidst home-town flavors and award-winning wineries, artisan and musical events that await your enjoyment. 

The City of Winchester and Frederick County are best known for apples, the Civil War, Patsy Cline, George Washington, the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival, and virbrant artist activities throughout the region.  Clarke County was the home of Lord Fairfax, Revolutionary War General Daniel Morgan, George Washington’s daughter Nellie Custis and the birthplace of Robert E. Lee’s wife, Mary Anna Randolph Custis.
