Red, Yellow, and Blue... Strong, Bold, and Dynamic. They are the pigments from which all color is derived. Color effects our perception. It can evoke emotion and influences many of the choices we make in creating our personal environment. Through the ages artists have used color to elevate and transform their work from the purely functional to an aesthetically pleasing art form. The power of the past influences the use of color in contemporary craft. Primary Colors, the exhibition, is an opportunity for the artist to define the present and envision the future of fine craft in the root pigments basic to the entire color spectrum.

About the juror: Alan Lazarus, MFA Rochester Institute of Technology. William Paterson University art department faculty member since 1974, serving as Department Chair, Dean of the School of Arts and Communication and Professor of Art. Owner of Lazarus and Williamson, LLC., a furniture and design studio specializing in residential and commercial projects.
