The “Celebrating the Legacy of the Wayne Theatre in the 21st Century” exhibit features the work of an array of well-regarded Virginia photographers, including Kevin Blackburn, Deb Booth, Conrad Matiuk, Mark Miller and Alison Thomas. “The Wayne Theatre has deep roots and a long history of serving the community. The exhibition seeks to honor the legacy of the Theatre by presenting the work of contemporary photographers alongside artifacts and photographs donated to the Wayne Theatre,” said Liz Moss, the curator of the exhibit. “The exhibit provides the opportunity to show iconic images of work inspired by the performing arts while the viewer can catch a glimpse of the past glory of the theatre. We hope you will celebrate the perspective of a new generation of artists with us as the Wayne Theatre begins its journey anew,” Moss said.
The exhibit will be on display September 8 - November 27 when the theatre is open, for those with tickets, and Tuesday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (box office hours). The exhibit will also be open October 8-9, 2016, during Fall Foliage Festival Hours.
