This workshop will allow students to explore the many aspects of musical theater through acting, music, dance, costume, makeup and performance.

The Wayne Spotlight stage theatrical education program presents a “Snow White and the Prince” workshop and showcase. Do you dream of taking the stage in a musical production? You can hone your theater chops in this eight-week course. Classes run Saturday mornings January 7 – March 4 from 9 a.m. to noon. The showcase will be held on March 4 at 7 p.m. and March 5 at 2 p.m. Recommended for grades 5 to 12.

About the Instructors

Hank Fitzgerald has been performing in professional and regional theater for over 20 years. He attended Shenandoah University and performed 5 seasons in their professional company, Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre. Hank went on to portray the role of Aladdin in the Disney Cruise Line show, Magic Journeys, and appeared in numerous shows at the acclaimed Alhambra Dinner Theater in Jacksonville, Fla. After returning to the Shenandoah Valley in 2007, Hank has been involved in numerous productions both onstage and behind the scenes. He is currently directing the first musical at the Wayne Theatre The Secret Garden. Some of his recent directing credits include Footloose, Rock of Ages ,Mary Poppins and the smash hit West Side Story.

Cory Willis has been teaching dance for 9 years. He has extensive experience in Contemporary, Jazz, Hip-Hop and Ballet technique. Mr. Willis is passionate about the art of dance and choreography. He has performed with the Atlanta Opera’s “Aida” as a principal dancer and gone on tour with the hit kids television show “Ragg’s Kid Club Band” at the young age of 17. Cory has danced along side Ashlyne Huff in her music video entitled- “Heart of Gold”, which prvision show “Ragg’s Kid Club Band” at the young age of 17. Cory has danced along side Ashlyne Huff in her music video entitled- “Heart of Gold,” which premiered on MTV in February of 2010. He has also worked with Tyce Diorio as a principal in an episode of “Drop Dead Divas,” an intense comedy drama television show on Lifetime network. Most recently Mr. Willis taught as an adjunt professor of dance at Piedmont College located in Demorest, Georgia and currently teaches at Valley Dance Theatre located in Staunton. Cory takes pride in helping others learn and grow in creative movement. Believing, determination, and inspiration are the keys to unlocking the creativity.
