As settlers established roots in the Crooked Run Valley in 1757, Colonel George Washington’s Virginia Regiment constructed Fort Loudoun in Winchester to defend Virginia’s western frontier during the French & Indian War. Join living historians as they portray a detachment of soldiers and civilians passing through the valley on their way to join the regiment, demonstrating musket drills, hearth cooking and life on the frontier in the 1750’s.
