This workshop is a brief introduction to the fluidity and freshness of watercolor. Students will practice with small studies as an approach to a larger painting. We will work with simple still-lifes and also more complex compositions for those with some experience. Demonstrations by instructor will show various techniques as well as color mixing. Lunch is included both days. This class takes place in the breathtakingly scenic village of Waterford, Virginia, established in 1733. Be inspired by an experienced instructor, and some of the most beautiful pastoral scenery in America!
Tools: Shared supplies will be available with a $25 fee. Students may use their own supplies, if desired. If bringing your own supplies, students should bring: watercolor tubes or boxes or colored pencils in basic colors, watercolor paper of sketch pads, brushes, pencils and kneaded eraser. We will be doing small studies before beginning a larger painting, so a sketchbook is useful, although paper will also be available.
