I recently wrote about Virginia’s rapidly expanding Artisan Trail Network. It was a piece about why these artisan trails are important and how to use them. But I have so much more to share from my time on the Smith River, Monticello and HeART and Soil of the Shenandoah Valley Artisan Trails.
So today, we’ll take a longer look at one artisan studio on the HeART & Soil of the Shenandoah Valley Artisan Trail, the blacksmithing workshop of Artisans Center of Virginia Master Juried Artisan- Dale Morse, founder of the Virginia Institute of Blacksmithing. Here’s what you’ll find in this video: the delicacy and beauty that can emerge from the primordial ingredients of fire, metal and muscle.
To help you create your own magical moments, find artisan happenings (creative, artisans/artists and agri/aqua-cultural artisans) in your neck of the woods and discover captivating people and places throughout the Commonwealth visit the Artisans Center of Virginia Calendar of Events.
Share them with us! Your stories are inspirational and motivate us and others to keep ‘forging the future’ for Virginia’s artisans.
Then consider making a gift to the Artisans Center of Virginia this holiday season in order to support and share our flagship programs like the Artisan Trail Network, the ACV Juried and Master Juried Artisan certification which elevate and enhance creative enterprises, amplify discovery, appreciation and awareness of artisan made goods, build community, increase visitor accessibility and provide essential services to artisan endeavors across the Commonwealth.
Not only does the Artisans Center of Virginia create opportunities for members and their visitors to develop, collaborate, learn, make, experience, excel, share, teach, exhibit, discover, connect and appreciate artisan-made goods through its celebrated programming, it is behind the scenes cultivating and encouraging magical moments all across the Commonwealth.
