Artisans Center of Virginia

10 Jul 2018 - Sign-Up Today for American Craft Week

Join with hundreds of artisans across the nation as we celebrate all thing handmade.

We are kicking off October’s Virginia Artisan Month again this year with American Craft Week! Now in its ninth year, American Craft Week is the country’s largest celebration of handmade American craft.

4 Reasons Why You Should Sign Up for American Craft Week Today!

1- PARTICIPATION IS FREE for Artisans Center of Virginia (ACV) and ‘Round the Mountain members! As a benefit of ACV membership, the $25 fee is waived. Open to all Artisan members - both creative and agricultural as well as all Virginia Artisan Trail Network and Virginia Oyster Trail member sites who align their events/activities with their local artisan community.

2- ENROLLMENT IS EASY! Log-in to the ACV CALENDAR, go to “Create Event” at the top of the page. Select “YES” to the “Is this event for American Craft Week?” question, complete the rest of your event details and we’ll do the rest!

  • We will post your activity to the ACW national website
  • We will share your activity via Facebook/Twitter
  • You will receive use of the American Craft Week logos for your promotions.
  • Collaborative marketing among Artisans Center of Virginia, Round the Mountain and the Virginia Tourism Corporation is being coordinated as each promotes the activities in their region and across the state via their websites, blogs, email newsletters and digital marketing portals.

3- NATIONAL & STATEWIDE EXPOSURE! Visitors to the American Craft Week and Artisans Center of Virginia websites are looking for events in your area, not just during American Craft Week! The sooner you sign up, the more exposure you get. Need Ideas? See below.

4- NATIONAL ARTISAN MOVEMENT! You’ll be joining other galleries, shops, studios, artists and festivals all across the US bringing national attention to all things handmade in America and handcrafted in Virginia by proudly displaying the American Craft Week and Artisans Center of Virginia logos. The more of us celebrating & spreading the word, the louder our voice becomes!

Need Ideas?

There’s plenty of time to plan and execute activities like an open house at your studio, farm or waterfront, a hands-on workshop, a demonstration or exhibit by a local artisan or artisans at your restaurant or B & B, or host a fun artisan inspired contest to entice more visitors.

Stand up and be counted with the many others across our nation who are illustrating that handcrafted products sustain entrepreneurs, create jobs, vibrant communities, and generate tourism activity.

Please join us and sign up today!
