 Alex Carr Art Studio

Original watercolor paintings and watercolor instruction for all levels

?Alex Carr Art Studio is large, airy, inviting and completely inspirational. It is located just off the historic Snickersville Turnpike and around the corner from the charming Philomont General Store (where you can get lunch and a bottle of wine for a picnic) in rural western Loudoun County. Schedule a studio tour and enjoy Alex’s magical watercolor demonstration and even try your hand at painting if you like! Experience the creative flow in a professional artist’s studio and browse through the many, beautiful watercolor paintings available in all sizes and price categories. Continue the tour into Alex’s teaching studio, where each student gets their own drafting desk with work station where all painting supplies are provided. If you are inspired to learn more about watercolor, schedule a private, semi-private or small group lesson at the studio. With all art supplies provided, you can go ahead and try that painting class you’ve always thought about, because you don’t need to spend a lot of extra money on expensive paints, paper, brushes, palette, etc.

Alex Carr Art Studio is a beautiful and inspiring space with gabled ceilings, hardwood floors? and beautiful north light. The numerous windows look out over gently rolling hills with the Blue Ridge Mountains in the background. The studio is divided into three separate rooms - the artist’s personal space, a teaching studio and a business office. Well designed, well organized and inviting, just being in the studio inspires waves of creative inspiration.

The studio setting is also lovely, on several acres thoughtfully planted with all kinds of trees, shrubs, vines and flowers, as well as a vegetable garden. There’s almost always something in bloom around the property to admire and inspire. If you visit in early spring you may be lucky enough to see along the drive entry, the long line of weeping cherry trees in bloom with billowing pink, double-blooms on graceful branches floating on the breeze - a magical sight.

Behind the studio the expansive stone patio with boulder wall is the perfect place to sit and relax and listen to the many songbirds that call the property home while you fall under the peaceful spell of this charming, country hideaway.
