The Gallery will host an open house on Sunday, June 11th from 12-4pm. Original local art, limited and open edition prints, and custom framing will be available. Refreshments and light hor d’oeurves will be served. A restroom is available. Charge cards accepted.
The owner and artist, Ferdinand C. “Doc"Dugan III, born in Catonsville, Maryland, graduated from the U. S. Naval Academy in 1957. After 26 years in Navy, Doc retired and purchased the Left Bank Gallery in Hague, Va, approximately 2 hours drive from the cities of Washington DC and Baltimore, Md, and 1 1/2 hour from Richmond, VA and Fredericksburg, VA He has been selling art and framing in this small town on the pristine and picturesque Northern Neck of Virginia since 1995. Trained in framing by the best, Larson Juhl of Atlanta, GA, a member of the Professional Picture Framers Association, regularly attending refresher and industry update training, Doc enjoys meeting and serving customers in the local, Fredericksburg, Va, Washington, Baltimore, and even California areas. He prides himself in the professionalism practiced in accomplishing each museum quality framing task. Doc insists that, although framing ones precious art or piece of memoribelia can be intimidating and a daunting task, he will make the experience fun, as well as informative. His work is guaranteed.
Doc is an artist himself, uses oil paint primarily, and does selected work on a commission basis. His prefers subjects dealing with waterfowl, landscapes, sunrise/sunsets,and local historic structures.
