I started making pots professionally in 1971 in Washington DC. In 1979, I moved to the Virginia countryside with my wife Janet and our infant son. Our home and studios are just a few miles south of Front Royal.
I make porcelain and stoneware mugs, bowls, pitchers, vases and salt shakers. The salt shakers, also called SALTERRAS, are a Chinese puzzle pot design that I tweaked and produced for the wholesale market for more than 20 years. My pots can also be seen at Eastern Market Pottery in Washington, DC.
In recent years I have scaled back pottery making to just a couple of days weekly. There is more time for reading, photography, and overseeing operations at Eastern Market Pottery on Capitol Hill, where I started in clay so many years ago.
