The Rappahannock Art League is the oldest and largest visual arts organization in the area. We were founded in 1949 and now have 400 members. Our Studio Gallery on Main Street in Kilmarnock shows the art and fine craft of 80 or so of our members. We have workshops, exhibits and tours for adults and kids.
The League’s activities are focused in the lower Northern Neck and lower Middle Peninsula of Virginia. The League is incorporated as a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization.
RAL is a proud affiliate of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and is partially supported by grants from Virginia Commission for the Arts, National Endowment for the Arts, Rappahannock Foundation for the Arts and River Counties Community Foundation.
The mission of Rappahannock Art League is to organize, sponsor and encourage educational and cultural activities in the visual arts and crafts.
