I do not remember a time when I was not creating art. With a lifetime of experience in drawing and painting I have formed a diverse style that is comfortable in many different media such as watercolor, oil paints and ceramics. The age-old craft of stained glass caught my interest, and I started working under a Master Craftsman in Syracuse, New York. I studied building techniques, repair of both new and old stained glass and the art of glass painting. Working in Brennan’s Stained Glass Studio from 1993 until 2000, I learned how to design projects and how to translate knowledge of drawing and painting into the hands-on craft of Stained Glass.
In 1996, I was promoted to Art Director at Brennan’s Studio, a position I held until 2000, when I relocated to Virginia. I opened SER Art Stained Glass Studio in Bedford, VA in the fall of 2001 and now have relocated in the Halesford Center at Moneta, close to Smith Mountain Lake. In this studio, I create custom stained glass with a gallery of finished pieces ready for purchase and a show room of ideas. I often hold classes there and give guidance to amateur glass workers along with the sale of supplies and glass.
I have twenty years of experience in stained glass and a lifetime of experience in various art media. My studio, SER Art, always creates a high quality, properly constructed and finished items done in time-honored fashion.
