Located right on the Onancock Creek, the water view from my studio is both calming and inspiring! I spend my days working there, hammering, sawing, working with molten metal, setting stones, bending wires, all efforts ending in a unique collection of jewelry, each piece made one at a time. You are welcome to come visit me while I am working, ask questions, and maybe learn something new. I also do a lot of custom work, so perhaps you would like to have something created just for you or for a special gift.
Some of my work can be found in a local gallery, Red Queen Gallery, just a short walk from my studio ( I have plenty of parking and a big lawn for you, the kids, and the dog to stretch your legs). Saturday morning I am often at the Onancock Market with the latest jewelry pieces, but I primarily sell my jewelry on the high seas. I do trunk shows on cruise ships several times a year, and have been doing that for over 10 years. I have samples of many different collections on display in my studio, so I welcome you to visit.
Onancock is an artsy town. There are several other working artists here who have their studios open to visitors as well. Check the trail map for other artists in town. And while you are here, visit our great restaurants, and perhaps spend the night in a local B&B so you have time to come back and visit some more.
I live and work at the water’s edge, just far enough away to keep my feet dry. The palette of colors of water and sky play an important part in my jewelry.
Since childhood I have had boundless creative energies. My grown up creations resonate with childlike playfulness and adult artistry.
When I travel to far away places, the shapes and textures found in ancient architecture become and woven into my own designs and link me to centuries of metalworking traditions.
The resulting body of work is the reflection of these sources of inspiration expressed in a myriad of playful and colorful forms born of natural materials.
Contact me if you would like a private studio tour or to set up a small workshop for one or a small group of interested people. My work can be found locally at the Red Queen Gallery, Onancock and and my new “Half Shells” oyster jewelry is at Blue Crab Bay Co. in Melfa.
