The Alleghany Highlands Arts and Crafts Center is a not-for-profit organization encouraging creative experiences and appreciation of the visual arts. Staffed entirely by volunteers plus one paid executive director, the Alleghany Highlands community donates thousands of hours each year.

The Center features two gallery rooms, a sales area, reception entrance, class rooms, and office space.

The Gallery's changing exhibits highlight work by area and regional artists.

The Center Shop sells original juried handmade items including pottery, wood crafts. ornaments, jewelry, cards, bead and needlework, fiber arts, rugs, watercolors, oils, silkscreens, lithographs, mono-prints, etchings, pastels, drawings, mixed media works and prints.
